I sat down with our new school psychologist, Ms. Walsh. Read below for the interview!
B: What is your name?
My full name is Olivia Anne Walsh.
B: What made you become a school psychologist?
When I was in college, I took a psychology class and I really liked it. After college, I got a job working with Dr. Wadden. I was his clinical research coordinator.
B: What do you like most about working with kids?
I grew up with 34 cousins, so I was always around kids and I really enjoy working with kids and feeling like I can make a difference in their lives.
B: When you were younger, what did you want to be?
I don’t think I ever really knew, and my parents never really pressured me into picking one. When I got into college, I got to try out different jobs. I tried Psychology and I really liked that one.
B: What was your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject in school was math. I think that I really liked my teachers in math and my dad liked it.
B: What was your favorite thing to do outside of school?
When I was growing up, my favorite things to do was to play basketball with my cousins, and my favorite thing to do now is to go out to eat with my husband and visit my parents and their dog, Munchkin, a Pomsky (A cross between a Pomerainian and a husky)
B: What is your favorite song?
When I was growing up, I loved The Jonas Brothers and the first concert I went to was a Jonas Brother Concert when I was in middle school.
B: Where did you grow up?
I grew up on Long Island, and then I moved to Philadelphia for a few years while I attended college at Haverford College in Pennsylvania. I played Volleyball and Basketball while I went there.
B: What do you like to do in your free time?
I love going to sporting events, spending time with my family, and going to the beach in the summer.
