It still hurts
I catch myself thinking about it from time to time,
Shrinking away from the things of the world.
Nights are filled with silence,
Days are misery.
Things have happened in between
But there were the good times,
But then there was the lack of trust.
There were always some sort of wall between us.
A wall neither of us could break down.
It stood like a barrier, shielding me from you.
Just know that it still hurts,
It will probably hurt for a long time
But I know that I have my people and you have yours.
It still hurts but I’ll see you in my dreams.
Slowly
When you lose someone,
You lose them in pieces.
You don’t lose them in a few days.
You lose them over years,
You long for them
Sometimes you forget they’re ever coming back.
They live in your heart,
But you slowly lose their presence.
You slowly become happy again,
But when you feel them
You break down again.
You say that you’re fine,
But then you spend the night crying
You loved them so much
But they’re gone.
