The auditions of Footloose have been over for a while, and it’s almost time for the performance! Until now, the workings of the cast have been away from the public eye. We did a little investigating and collected some inside information and interviews from the cast. 

Footloose? What is that about? Well, since you asked, Footloose is about a teenager, Ren McCormack, who moves from Chicago to a small town where they have an outlaw on singing and dancing. He attempts to change the ban on singing and dancing put in place by the town’s reverend.

Julia Friedberg:

Q: What role do you play in Footloose? 

A: Jeter, and I’m also a part of the dance ensemble

Q: What is one of the songs you sing in? 

A: I sing in the song “Mama Says”

Q: What is your favorite part of being in the show?

My favorite part of being in Footloose is that everyone knows each other and is all friends! 

Finn Gallagher plays one of the main roles in Footloose, and is excited that he got to try something new! He had many interesting things to say in our exclusive interview.

Q: What role do you play in Footloose? 

A: I play one of the main characters, Ren.

Q: What is your favorite song from the show?

A: “I Can’t Sit Still”

Q: What is your favorite scene from Footloose?

A: Probably the Final Dance

Q: What is your favorite thing about being in Footloose? 

A: My favorite thing about being in Footloose is that I got to try something new!

Mae Curiale and Delilah McAuliffe decided to have a joint interview about their roles in Footloose and being in this production.

Q: How/when did you start doing musical theatre?

Mae – I’ve been doing theatre since I was seven and we did it at the same company. My parents won a free raffle for a program at the company. 

Delilah – Well I loved singing since I was a baby, and I did the play last year and I wanted to do it again. I loved working on the play and, Mr. Chillemi is a good director.

Q: What made you join Footloose?

A: I wanted to be in another play and I thought it was a cool play, and I wanted to be in another musical!

Q: What inspired you to start musical theatre?

A: I thought it would be fun and an interesting experience, I also love music!
